Eddie Alvarez Sorry To Disappoint The Fans, Didn’t Want To Compete At “60-70%”

Bellator Fighting Championships 155 lbs title holder, Eddie Alvarez, had been scheduled to defend his title at the Bellator 54 event but suffered an undisclosed injury. The champ tells “Inside MMA” that he’s sorry to disappoint the fans but he didn’t want to compete at “60-70%” of his ability.

“I apologize to you guys. It’s not in my nature to make my injuries a part of a promotion’s problem, a part of the fans’ problem but again it wouldn’t be fair. It wouldn’t be fair to the people wasting their night tuning in and seeing me at 60-70 percent.”
