‘Gamebred’ Masvidal Focussed On Becoming The Next Strikeforce Lightweight Champ

The future of Strikeforce lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez’ may be uncertain after recent comments by UFC President Dana White, to which he recently spoke about bringing ‘El Niño’ to the UFC “ASAP”, but for Jorge ‘Gamebred’ Masvidal (22-6), he still has to prepare like he’s set to meet the champ in December.

The two are tentatively scheduled to meet at an unnamed Strikeforce event on December 17.

Without an official word on what will happen to the Melendez and the belt, Masvidal still has to train hard everyday for this fight. If it does happen, Masvidal feels all of his pain over the past several months will have earned him the Strikeforce lightweight championship.
