Canada’s own Yves “Tiger” Jabouin will be taking on Walel “The Gazelle” Watson in a bantamweight battle on December 10th at UFC 140 in Toronto. “Jabouin is looking to stay undefeated since moving into the weight division and Watson is coming off a spectacular KO win,” said UFC president Dana White today. Both fighters have verbally agreed to the bout.
That announcement was made on Friday by White on the promotions UFC.com website, confirming the eleventh bout of the December card. Although not announced, the match is expected to appear on the preliminary card.
UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida is set to take place on December 10th at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The event is headlined by a UFC light heavyweight title match between champ Jon Jones and former title holder, Lyoto Machida.
Jabouin, the ‘Tiger’ (16-7), debuted at bantamweight in his last fight after a 1-3 skid at 155 lbs under Zuffa. Jabouin earned a split decision over Ian Loveland at UFC 134 last August for his first Octagon victory. He made his promotional debut in April of last year, losing by submission (flying triangle choke) to Pablo Garza at UFC 129.
Watson, ‘The Gazelle’, makes his second UFC appearance having won his debut earlier this month at UFC Live: Cruz vs. Johnson. At the Washington, D.C. event, Watson earned a quick 77-second TKO victory over Joseph Sandoval by TKO. All of ‘The Gazelle’s’ nine pro-wins have come by submission or knockout, with 7 submissions and 2 (T)KO’s.
