Deontay Wilder will be back in action for the first time in 14 months later today (Sat., Dec. 23, 2023) at “Day of Reckoning” live on DAZN PPV from inside Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and fight fans should be more than excited.

That’s because “Bronze Bomber” is one of the best knockout artists the heavyweight division has ever seen. The former WBC heavyweight king hasn’t competed since a first-round knockout win over Robert Helenius back in Oct. 2022 (highlights HERE) so fight fans have been waiting well over a year for Wilder to make his official return. It will come this weekend against Joseph Parker in the “Day of Reckoning” co-main event.

Wilder, who has been teasing a potential move to mixed martial arts (MMA), is just one fight removed from his grudge matches with heavyweight superstar Tyson Fury. Their feud produced some of the best heavyweight action we’ve seen in years. Fury ended up stopping Wilder in each of the past two contests, but their initial meeting back in 2018 saw Wilder score one of the biggest punches in recent memory.

The moment came in the 12th round as Wilder landed a nasty combination that sent Fury toppling to the canvas. Fury looked to be on death’s doorstep and certainly not capable of returning to his feet. Wilder looked to be on his way to a massive upset knockout win before “Gypsy King” rose off the canvas like The Undertaker and the fight ended on the scorecards.

It was an incredible turn of events for the world of boxing and one of the biggest punches in Wilder’s illustrious career. Check it out in the above video player ahead of Wilder’s return to action this weekend against Parker.
