Jeff Monson Suffered Broken Leg Against Fedor Emelianenko

Jeff ‘The Snowman’ Monson suffered a broken leg during his bout with Fedor Emelianenko this past weekend in Russia. Monson reveals that after an early kick from his opponent, he suffered an “unlucky break” which affected his mobility throughout the rest of the fight. Emelianenko would go on to score a unanimous decision at the M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Monson event which went down on Nov. 20, 2011 at the Olympic Arena in Moscow, Russia.

“It was just an unlucky break. Obviously, it affected my mobility, but it was a good kick by him…. He didn’t let me do my game plan, which was put him against the ropes and get him on the ground…. He executed better than me. Dan Henderson and Fabricio Werdum, he got to aggressive when he knocked them down, he was more patient this time. He didn’t want to engage in a bad situation, which was to his benefit, so he can beat anybody I think.”
