Max Holloway may have scored one of the most iconic knockouts in combat sports history last weekend at UFC 300, but “Blessed” didn’t walk away from his “BMF” title fight with Justin Gaethje completely unscathed.

Holloway, who was counted out by most in his return to 155 pounds at UFC 300, looked tremendous from the opening bell of his five-round fight with “Highlight.” For the most part, Holloway had his was with Gaethje. He was quicker, more precise with his punches, and barely put himself in harm’s way.

In the end, Holloway was able to deliver one of the best five-round performances of his career and capped it off with a last-second knockout punch that put Gaethje to sleep. It’s easily one of the greatest UFC knockouts of all time and a “BMF” win for Holloway that has catapulted his already legendary career to new heights.

That said, Holloway did not escape his war with Gaethje without injury. It’s nothing that’s going to set him back for his next Octagon appearance, but Holloway was hit with a collection of hard leg kicks from Gaethje. “Highlight” is known for his painful leg kicks and has even scored a few finishes with the technique throughout his career. Holloway seemed to eat all of Gaethje’s kicks during their fight at UFC 300, but he’s feeling it now.

Earlier this week, Holloway showed off his damaged limb to ensure fight fans that he took some good lumps in the fight. Check it out below:

“The guy kicked like a Mack Truck bro,” said Holloway as he showed off his badly bruised leg.

In the end, Holloway walked away from UFC 300 as the biggest winner of the card. It was the greatest collection of fights in the history of the promotion and “Blessed” made the most meaningful impact. That’s certainly worth a damaged leg and whatever else Holloway suffered in his lightweight war with Gaethje.
