Uros Medic got back into the welterweight win column earlier tonight (Sat., April 27, 2024) at UFC Vegas 91 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, putting a brutal stop to veteran Tim Means with a nasty uppercut knockout in the first round.
Means quickly tried to change levels and utilize a stronger grappling game, but Medic’s defense was solid. He had some issues in his last outing, but he did well in the early going to keep the fight standing and to stuff anything Means had to offer. This ultimately allowed Medic to get comfortable on the feet and open up with his own offense.
That’s when “The Doctor” connected with a perfectly-timed uppercut. He caught Means on the chin and dropped him where he stood. Medic jumped on top for a few insurance shots, but this could have been a walk-off knockout. Means was toast.
Check out the final moments in the above video player.
Medic, 31, was coming off a disappointing submission loss to Myktybek Orolbai his last time out so this was the perfect way to start his 2024 campaign. “The Doctor” will still have to show an improved grappling game moving forward, but Medic has all the striking in the world to climb the welterweight rankings and make a push towards the top 15 by year’s end.
