Former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Dominick Reyes finally returned to the win column earlier tonight (Sat., June 8, 2024) at UFC Louisville live on ESPN+ from inside KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky, when “Devastator” stopped veteran Dustin Jacoby with a dominant first-round TKO (knee and punches).

It was Reyes’ first UFC win since he knocked out Chris Weidman all the way back in 2019.

Reyes is known for his size, but Jacoby is just as tall. Jacoby has also been way more active than Reyes over the past few years as “Devastator” has struggled with injuries on and off. Needless to say, Reyes was the betting underdog and needed to prove he still belongs among the top fighters at 205 pounds after nearly two years off.

The two light heavyweights went shot-for-shot during an early feeling out period, but Reyes seemed to have the stronger punches. He eventually hurt Jacoby who stumbled backwards into the cage. Reyes followed suit and launched a monster knee in the clinch that absolutely destroyed Jacoby. That allowed Reyes to unload punches in bunches for the eventual finish.

it was a great way to return to the win column and a perfect scenario for Reyes to move up the light heavyweight ranks upon his return. Check out the final moments in the above video player.
