Brunno Ferreira delivered one of the best knockouts of the year earlier tonight (Sat., June 8, 2024) at UFC Louisville live on ESPN+ from inside KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky, putting a brutal stop to fellow middleweight Dustin Stoltzfus with a first-round spinning back elbow. It was only the eighth spinning back elbow knockout in UFC history.
Stoltzfus looked good in the early going as he landed some long strikes on the feet before mixing in some wrestling and top pressure. Ferreira was too strong, though, as he was able to return to his feet. That’s when Ferreira uncorked a nasty spinning back elbow that Stoltzfus somehow ate and kept plodding forward.
The two middleweights would begin an all-out war of looping power punches with ill intention. A lot of punches came through from the Ferreira side and Stoltzfus was stunned. It was a perfect time for Ferreira to throw another spinning back elbow. This one caught Stoltzfus directly in the face and sent him toppling to the canvas, forcing the referee to step in and save him from any further punishment.
It was one of the best knockouts so far in 2024 (but not better than THIS KO) and Ferreira’s third first-round knockout finish inside the Octagon. Check it out in the above video player.
