In the early days of the sport, mixed martial arts was a hot topic of debate thanks to the violent nature of earlier battles, which were largely unsanctioned in most states and dry of most formal rules and regulations.
Now, the sport has evolved by leaps and bounds, taking place in many countries all around the world and has almost reached full acceptance here in the United States, though New York continues to be an issue nonetheless.

His brawls were often subject to just striking matches, but since then others have taken it to another level by exhibiting MMA battles now as well.
