Next months UFC 142: Aldo vs. Mendes event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has taken a hit as four fighters were forced off the card due to injuries.

Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced the withdrawal of Rob ‘The Bear’ Broughton (15-7-1), Bulgarian fighter Stanislav Nedkov (12-0), and newcomer Siyar Bahadurzada (20-4-1) via Twitter (@ufc), all due to injury.

Nedkov was not injured, but in fact withdrew from the event due to VISA issues.

While Tatame.com is reporting that Brazilian welterweight Paulo Thiago (14-3) is out due to an elbow injury suffered in while training at his Constrictor Team gym in Brazil.

Broughton had been scheduled to face Ednaldo Oliveira in a heavyweight bout on the preliminary card. Broughton has been replaced by Gabriel Gonzaga.

Nedkov was to face fellow light heavyweight Fabio Maldonado on the prelim card, no news has surfaced at time of writing of a replacement for Nedkov.

Bahadurzada was to take on Erick Silva, who will now meet Carlos Prater at the Brazilian show.

And finally, the UFC has yet to officially announce the injury to Thiago, who was to face Mike Pyle, so no replacement has surfaced yet.
