Renato Moicano silenced the French crowd with a brutal doctor’s stoppage over lightweight contender Benoit Saint Denis earlier today (Sat., Sept. 28, 2024) at UFC Paris live on ESPN+ from inside Accor Arena in Paris, France, and then proceeded to call out the French government in his post-fight speech.

Moicano was the betting underdog coming into this main event, but you wouldn’t have known. The Brazilian veteran wasted little time getting a nice takedown and landing in top control. From there, Moicano landed heavy ground-and-pound, moved into full mount, and smashed Saint Denis with vicious elbows. BSD hung in tough and absorbed as much punishment as he could.

Unfortunately for the faithful French in the crowd, Saint Denis looked out of sorts in the second as well. Moicano absolutely battered the lightweight brawler and nearly shut both of his eyes. The cageside doctors took a close look at BSD before the third round began. Saint Denis showed signs of being able to continue, but eventually told officials he couldn’t see out of his right eye. The fight was subsequently waved off.

In the end, it was Moicano who walked away with the TKO finish. The main event may not have ended in dramatic fashion, but “Money” dominated the action from the opening bell and did more than enough to feel good about his performance. It was his fourth-straight win at 155 pounds and one that should land him a top 10 matchup his next out.

After the fight, UFC color commentor Michael Bisping interviewed Miocano in front of a crowd of disappointed French fans. While Moicano would usually crap on the home crowd or deliver a sound bite for his next target opponent, “Money” ended up taking aim at the French government.

Check it out below:

“People from France don’t suck, but government in France is f—king horrendous,” said Moicano. “French Revolution in 1789 they tried to erase God from the map.”
