Conor McGregor is betting $500,000 against Francis Ngannou to win his MMA return later tonight (Sat., Oct. 19, 2024) at PFL: Battle of the Giants live on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside The Mayadeen in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, picking the former UFC heavyweight champion to get knocked out by Renan Ferreira in the main event.

In case your forgot, it’s been almost three years since Ngannou has competed inside of the cage. Due in part to his lengthy contract dispute with UFC and eventual boxing crossover after signing with Professional Fighters League (PFL) in 2023, Ngannou’s last MMA fight came against Ciryl Gane back in Jan. 2022.

While “Predator” is widely respected as one of the very best MMA heavyweights in the world right now, his hiatus from competition have some worried. After all, Ferreira is an absolute unit in the PFL’s heavyweight division and poses a multitude of threats for Ngannou. It will be up to Ngannou to prove he’s still a MMA fighter capable of winning at the highest level.

McGregor, who has been placing some hefty wagers over the past month, is one who doesn’t believe Ngannou will return to form on Saturday night. Instead, “Notorious” is putting big money on Ferreira to stop the former UFC champion by knockout.

Check it out below:

“The Mac is back with his winning bets,” said McGregor. “I’ve got a 100 percent winning ratio on these bets. Ngannou’s losing by KO tonight. I’m putting half a million on it. And I’m going to win back $1.7 million.

“That’s it. It’s a ruthless business and I’m a ruthless man.”
