Dustin Stoltzfus delivered a monstrous knockout finish earlier tonight (Sat., Nov. 2, 2024) at UFC Edmonton live on ESPN+ from inside Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, stopping middleweight veteran Marc-Andre Barriault with a nasty right hand in the first round.
This main card matchup was not great in the beginning minutes. Stoltzfus basicall relied on his takedowns, top game, and control to subdue Barriault and gain an early edge. Barriault wasn’t offering much defense, but he did eventually power his way to his feet with under a minute left. That’s when all hell broke loose.
Both middleweights unloaded heavy hooks and uppercuts in the clinch with deadly intentions. Even after they broke away to create distance they kept firing and fought their way against the cage. That’s when Stoltzfus uncorked a sick right hand that caught “Power Bar” flush and put him out for the count. Stoltzfus jumped on top for a few extra shots.
Check out the final moments in the above video player.
Stoltzfus, 32, is not known for his striking. Instead, the middleweight veteran typically relies on his wrestling and submission prowess to take control of fights. While Stoltzfus did that early on it’s nice to see his power come through on the feet, especially since this was his last fight on his current UFC contract.
