Fight fans were once again treated to a collection of high-octane Muay Thai fights earlier today (Fri., Nov. 8, 2024) at ONE Friday Fights 86 from inside Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, and ended up witnessing a double knockdown during a wild comeback performance.
The promotion will also be hosting ONE 169 on Friday night featuring the likes of heavyweight champion Anatoly Malykhin and Muay Thai legend Rodtang, but first the organization rolled out Friday Fights 86 to give fight fans a taste of things to come. It was great planning by ONE considering Friday’s early action delivered in waves.
One of the more memorable matchups was a Muay Thai contest between exciting strikers Chatpichit and Nueaphet. The fight offered violent action from the opening bell as Nueaphet gained early momentum and started to pull ahead. It looked like Nueaphet was going to cruise to a three-round victory, but Chatpichit ended up turning the tides.
After a double knockdown in Round 2 sent both men crashing to the canvas it was Chatpichit who ramped his efforts up in the third round. He scored a vicious knockdown along the ropes that sent Nueaphet to the ground. After Nueaphet returned to his feet, Chatpichit quickly rushed in for another flurry. He ended up connecting with a clean left hand that instantly put Nueaphet out and forced the referee to dive in for the stoppage.
