It all goes down tomorrow night (Sat., Nov. 16, 2024) at UFC 309 LIVE on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Madison Square Garden in New York City, as Jon Jones finally puts his UFC heavyweight title on the line against all-time legend and former UFC champion, Stipe Miocic.
Despite what has been said about the booking of this fight and the exclusion of interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, Jones vs. Miocic is a fantastic matchup on paper. While Jones is the better all-around fighter, Miocic has the size, wrestling, and punching power to keep “Bones” at bay. Both fighters have had similar cage activity over the past three years so it should be a pretty even playing field tomorrow night in NYC.
Luckily for fight fans, UFC 309 is a pretty stacked card from top to bottom. This includes a co-main event lightweight rematch between former UFC champion Charles Oliveira and fan favorite Michael Chandler, the return of undefeated middleweight sensation Bo Nickal, and a deep undercard featuring veterans like Chris Weidman, Jim Miller, Jonathan Martinez, and Marcin Tybura.
Ahead of Saturday night, all fighters stepped on stage for UFC 309’s ceremonial weigh ins (replay HERE). As always, each matchup culminated with a final — and very intense — staredown. Check out some of the key pairings below and be sure to catch all the action tomorrow night on ESPN+ PPV:
