The former UFC title challenger helped ring in the debut event for Dirty Boxing Championship (DBC), which is a promotion created by bareknuckle brawler and former UFC fighter Mike Perry. Saturday night’s secret card was more of a test event. It was private invitation only and didn’t stream anywhere. It was Perry’s clever way of ironing out all the kinks.

Nevertheless, DBC debuted and it debuted in awesome fashion. There were some spectacular finishes inside of the dimly-lit boxing ring, including a body shot knockout and a ridiculous superman punch finish. Even UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones was in attendance to soak up the fun.

Check out some of the highlights below:

Romero, who was last seen defeating Thiago Santos via decision back at PFL vs. Bellator this past February, was booked for main event duties. The hulking UFC veteran moved all the way up to heavyweight for his throwdown with former Power Slap competitor Duane Crespo. It seemed like a layup for “Soldier of God.”

Luckily for Romero, he didn’t disappoint. The former UFC standout who owns wins over the likes of Lyoto Machida, Chris Weidman, and Luke Rockhold, uncorked a devastating straight left hand that caught Crespo flush and knocked him to the canvas. The rules under DBC allow a fighter to implement ground-and-pound on a downed opponent, but Romero didn’t need to. Crespo was cooked.
