Two bouts were announced for the upcoming UFC 145 event in Montreal as Canadian fighter Mark ‘The Machine’ Hominick (20-10) returns to the Octagon after a seven-second knockout loss at UFC 140 to face Eddie ‘The Filipino Phenom’ Yagin (15-5-1) in a featherweight bout. While another Canadian, Mark Bocek (10-4), also returns after an appearance at UFC 140 last month to take on ‘Handsome’ Matt Wiman (14-6) at the March event in a lightweight bout.

Both matchups were made official by the UFC on Tuesday at UFC.com.

After a shocking knockout loss at UFC 140 in Toronto, featherweight contender Mark Hominick will waste no time in returning to fight again in his home country, this time taking on Eddie Yagin on March 24th in Montreal. Both fighters have verbally agreed to the bout.

Also at that event, exciting lightweights looking to move up the rankings have verbally agreed to face off in as “Handsome” Matt Wiman will take on Canadian BJJ specialist Mark Bocek.

UFC 145 is expected to take place on March 24, 2012 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec. Currently no headlining bout has been named but the event does include a welterweight fight between Rory MacDonald vs. Che Mills.

Hominick has now lost two in a row, losing to Chan Sung Jung last month in Toronto after a seven-second knockout by ‘The Korean Zombie’. The other loss came by decision versus Jose Aldo at UFC 129 as the Brazilian successfully defended his title in the UFC’s first stadium event. Previous to the losses, Hominck had won five straight.

Yagin debuted with the UFC this past September at UFC 135, losing by decision to Junior Assuncao at the Colorado event. The loss ended a two fight win streak and puts him at 2-2 in his last four which includes winning the Tachi Palace Fights 10 featherweight title last August.

Bocek bounced back from a loss in his second straight Toronto event by defeating Nik Lentz via decision at the UFC 140 event. The victory put’s Bocek at 2-1 in his last four and 6-4 in the Octagon overall.

Wiman earned a “Fight of the Night” bonus in October after defeating Mac Danzig via unanimous decision. That was the last time fans saw ‘Handsome’ in the Octagon, which saw him bounce back from a decision loss to Dennis Siver at UFC 132 earlier in the summer.
