Four bouts were identified for the Ultimate Fighting Championships upcoming UFC on Fuel TV 2 event in Sweden, with officials confirming a middleweight bout between Brian Stann (11-4) and Alessio ‘Legionarius’ Sakara (15-8, 1NC).
The other three matches were not announced by the UFC but were confirmed by mmanytt.se.
MMAnytt.se identified a light heavyweight match between Cyrille ‘The Snake’ Diabate (17-8-1) versus newcomer, Swedish fighter Jorgen ‘The Last Viking’ Kruth (5-0), a pair of welterweight newcomers are matched up as Besam Yousef (6-0) meets Simeon ‘The Grin’ Thoresen (16-2-1), and a middleweight bout has UFC sophomore Francis ‘Limitless’ Carmont (17-7) taking on another newcomer Magnus ‘Jycken’ Cedenblad (10-3).
UFC on Fuel TV 2 is expected to take place on April 14, 2012 at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. Already identified for the event is a pair of welterweight bouts featuring DaMarques Johnson vs. John Maguire and James Head vs. Papy Abedi.
Stann had a three fight win streak stopped by Chael Sonnen last October at UFC 136 by second round submission. While Sakara also sports the exact 3-1 record having lost a decision to Chris Weidman at UFC on Versus 4.
Diabate is 1-2 in his last three losing to Anthony Perosh at UFC 138 while winning a decision over Steve Cantwell at UFC on Versus 4. Kruth is a former K-1 kickboxer with a 71-14 career record, he is undefeated in his 5 mma bouts stopping all of his opponents in the first round.
Yousef has won six straight, competing strictly with The Zone FC promotion in Sweden. Thoresen comes from Norway and is 2-1 in his last three, earning his last win in October via first round submission.
Carmont is a member of the Tristar Gym and earned his UFC debut at UFC 137 in October by earning a decision over Chris Camozzi. His opponent, Swedish fighter Cedenblad, has won seven straight with his last win taking place in October also.
