Fight fans have grown accustomed to seeing one-armed fighters compete in combat sports, but it’s always impressive to see one of these hard-nosed athletes score an epic finish.
That’s exactly what happened on Friday night (Dec. 13, 2024) when one-armed fighter, Marney Maxx, unloaded a ferocious knockout stoppage over Esteferson da Silva at Shooto Brasil 127 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was the first time Maxx has competed in almost three years, but he was coming off back-to-back finishes in early 2022.
Luckily for fight fans in attendance, the one-armed lightweight didn’t miss a beat. He was able to land a slick head kick followed by a hard right hand that hurt da Silva with about 90 seconds left in the first round. Maxx unloaded everything he had along the cage and eventually slumped his Brazilian counterpart twice to score the memorable finish.

First of all, Maxx didn’t appear to be in the best of shape for this fight. His “off the couch” physique made this finish even more memorable. Secondly, the 10-second sequence not only featured two knockdowns, a head kick, and a flying knee, but Maxx was even throwing shots with his impaired left arm as well.
It was incredible to say the least and another great addition to the wild performances we’ve seen from one-armed fighters.
