“The Ultimate Fighter” season seven winner Amir Sadollah (5-3) is scheduled to face Wand Fight Team protege Jorge ‘Lil’ Monster’ Lopez (11-2) in May as part of the UFC on FUEL TV 3 card.
Officials with the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced the matchup Saturday night at UFC.com.
TUF 7 winner Amir Sadollah will meet 11-2 Wanderlei Silva protege Jorge Lopez in a welterweight war. The matchup was originally slated to take place last weekend at UFC 143, but both fighters were injured during their training camps.
The UFC makes it’s second appearance at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia when they return on May 15, 2012 with UFC on FUEL TV 3. A main event has yet to be named for the third FUEL show but already has seven matches named to the show.
Sadollah saw his last fight take place in August of last year, a unanimous decision loss to Duane Ludwig on the main card of UFC on Versus 5. The loss ended a two fight win streak for the TUF 7 winner, who earned wins over DaMarques Johnson and Peter Sobotta.
Lopez debuted with the UFC last September, losing to Justin Edwards on the prelim card of UFN 25. The loss was ‘Lil’ Monster’s’ first since 2007 having amassed a ten fight win streak which included four finishes and six decision wins.
