An injury to Swedish fighter, UFC newcomer Akirai Corassani (9-3, 1NC) has forced the former TUF 14 competitor off the upcoming UFC on FUEL TV: Nogueira vs. Gustafsson card.

Corassani’s opponent, Jason ‘Shotgun’ Young (8-5) will face a new opponent on the Stockholm card but the promotion has yet to name that new fighter.

News of the change was announced by the UFC on Thursday.

UFC on FUEL TV 2 (aka UFC on FUEL TV: Nogueira vs. Gustafsson) is scheduled to take place on April 14, 2012 at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. The main card will air live in the U.S. on FUEL TV, with the prelim matches streaming live on the web (Facebook, and/or Youtube).

Corassani was a member of Team Bisping on “TUF 14″ and was eliminated in the semi-final round. He was scheduled to debut with the UFC at the “TUF 14 Finale” but suffered an injury before the December 3rd date. Corassani dropped his last pro bout by second round TKO ending a seven fight undefeated streak with various promotions across Europe.

Young is 0-2 in the UFC having dropped decisions to Dustin Poirier at UFC 131 and to Michihiro Omigawa at UFC 138. ‘Shotgun’ will have to win his next bout no matter who he ends up facing in Sweden if he wishes to stay with the UFC.
