A couple of bantamweights will square off in Virginia when the ‘Big Frog’ Jeff Curran (33-14-1) takes on Nova Uniao fighter Johnny Eduardo (25-9) as part of the UFC on FUEL TV 3 card this May.

News of the bout was confirmed by MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday after confirming with sources close to the fight.

UFC on FUEL TV 3 is expected to take place on May 15, 2012 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia. So far the event has ten bouts identified for the show but has not had a main event announced. The Curran vs. Eduardo bout will certainly appear on the preliminary card.

Curran, is 0-2 in two stints with the UFC, having lost a unanimous decision to Scott Jorgensen last October at UFC 137 in Curran’s return match. The defeat ended a two fight win streak, under the Xtreme Fighting Organization, and has saw him bounce between the XFO, Bellator, Strikeforce, and the WEC since 2009.

Eduardo debuted with the UFC in August of last year, losing to Raphael Assuncao at UFC 134 by unanimous decision. The loss ended an eleven fight win streak for Eduardo who competed with various promotions in Brazil as well as one appearance with Bellator. In that span, Eduardo earned five (T)KO wins, four submission victories, and two wins by decision.
