On Monday, the Ohio Athletic Commission released the fighter salaries for this past Saturday’s (March 3, 2012) Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey event, totaling $543,500 for the nine bout card.
Earning the biggest payout was former champ Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza who earned $92,000 for his win over opponent Bristol Marunde. The payout also included Souza’s $22,000 win bonus. Earning the next top spot was lightweight Josh Thomson who made $80,000 with no win bonus for his victory against KJ Noons.
Headliners, newly crowned Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey made $32,000 (with a $17,000 win bonus) for her first round submission win over former title holder Miesha Tate, who made $19,000 in the loss.
Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey went down at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus this past weekend with the main card airing on SHOWTIME and the prelim card airing on Showtime Extreme.
