The regional Amazon Forest Combat promotion based in Brazil held their latest event Saturday night (March 31, 2012) from the Amadeu Teixeira Gymnasium in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil.
Normally I wouldn’t post the results for an event like this one but with the card featuring several well known fighters, including two former UFC middleweight champions and two former middleweight contenders, the results could see a return of one ore more to the Octagon in the near future.
The event, which was streamed live by Rede TV and was headlined by a rematch of a UFC 35 title bout featuring former UFC middleweight champions Dave Menn vs. Murilo Bustamante. Another rematch appeared in the co-main event, seeing former 185-lbs contender Thales Leites take on Matt Horwich.
Also on the card was another former contender in Patrick ‘The Predator’ Cote who took on Gustavo Machado in the French-Canadian’s run to return to the Octagon.
An interesting light heavyweight matchup between Judo specialists Satoshi Ishii and Rameau Thierry was slated for the nights action but was pulled from the card after Ishii reportedly showed up for 15.4 lbs overweight for the fight.
