The Ultimate Fighting Championship added flyweight talent Tim Elliot (8-2-1) to the promotions 125-lbs division, and looks to have a fight already booked for him next month by replacing Darren Uyenoyama at the upcoming UFC on FOX 3 event. Elliot will face “TUF 14″ winner John ‘The Magician’ Dodson (12-5) at the May show.
Although no official announcement has been made by the promotion, Elliot has replaced Uyenoyama on the official fight card at UFC.com.
UFC on FOX 3 (UFC on Fox: Diaz vs. Miller) will take place on May 5, 2012 at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The bout between Elliot and Dodson is scheduled for the events FUEL TV broadcasted prelim card.
Elliot joins the UFC riding an eight fight win streak completing his last two bouts under the Resurrection Fighting Alliance. He fought as recently as March 30th when he put opponent Josh Rave to sleep in 28-seconds with a brabo choke at the RFA 2 event. Elliot has earned three wins by (T)KO, four by submission and one by decision, finishing all four of his last opponents.
Dodson fought as a bantamweight on season 14 of “TUF” defeating T.J. Dillashaw in the finale last December. He now returns to the 125-lbs division to face Elliot riding a three fight win streak and is 5-1 in his last six matches. The Jackson’s MMA fighter has earned five wins by (T)KO, two by submission and five be decision over his career.
