Takeya Mizugaki
A bantamweight bout is being reported for this falls UFC 151 event featuring Japanese fighter Takeya Mizugaki (15-7-2) and submission expert Jeff ‘Hellbound’ Hougland (10-5).
News of the matchup was announced by MMAWeekly.com on Sunday after confirming the bout with sources close to the fight.
UFC 151 is expected to take place on September 1, 2012 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mizugaki has traded wins for losses since joining the WEC in 2009 and moving into the UFC last year. He is 4-5 in that time with a record of 2-2 in the Octagon. He recently lost a split decision to Chris Cariaso at UFC 144 in Japan last February, maintaining his up-and-down ride following a second round TKO finish of Cole Escovedo at UFC 135 in September.
Hougland saw a nine fight win streak stopped last month in Virginia after a decision loss to Yves Jabouin at UFC on FUEL TV 3. ‘Hellbound’ is now 1-1 in the UFC, with a decision victory against Donny Walker at UFC 132 in Hougland’s Octagon debut. The Washington based fighter has earned seven of his ten pro-victories by submission, with two decision and one (T)KO win.
