The Ultimate Fighting Championship has pulled a planned light heavyweight bout between promotion sophomores Nick Penner (11-2) and Tom DeBlass (7-1).

The two were scheduled to meet at UFC on Fuel TV: Munoz vs. Weidman next month, and was pulled from the card after Penner was forced to withdraw from the fight due to injury.

News of the update was reported by MMAFighting.com on Tuesday.

UFC on Fuel TV: Munoz vs. Weidman is expected to take place on July 11, 2012 at HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.

Penner, who hails from Canada, debuted with the UFC this past March seeing his eight fight win streak stopped by Anthony Perosh by first round TKO at the UFC on FX 2 event.

DeBlass also debuted with the UFC in his last fight, losing a majority decision to Cyrille Diabaté last April at the UFC on FUEL TV 2 event in Sweden. The loss was the first in DeBlass’s career after seven straight victories.
