Flyweight fighters John ‘Mão-de-Pedra’ Lineker (19-6) and Yasuhiro Urushitani (19-5-6) are reportedly set to meet this fall at UFC 151.
News of the matchup was first reported by Tatame.com on Monday from sources close to the match.
UFC 151: Jones vs. Henderson is expected to take place on September 1, 2012 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and is headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones vs. Dan Henderson.
Lineker, who hails from Brazil, debuted in the Ocatgon this past May at the UFC on FOX 3 event versus Louis Gaudinot. Lineker had his thirteen fight win streak stopped by Gaudinot in a 127-lbs catchweight bout, losing via second round submission. The match also earned both fighters the “Fight of the Night” bonus.
Urushitani, the former Shooto bantamweight (123-lbs) champ also debuted with the UFC in his last bout, having faced Joseph Benavidez in the semi-finals of the UFC Flyweight tournament. The Japanese fighter would suffer a second round TKO loss to Benavidez last March, ending a five fight win streak for Urushitani.
