A pair of heavyweights will headline this October’s upcoming UFC on FX 5 event, as undefeated fighter Travis ‘Hapa’ Browne (13-0-1) takes on Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva (16-4) in the main event of the televised show.

Officials with the promotion made the announcement on Friday at UFC.com.

When one door closes, another opens, and after unbeaten heavyweight Travis Browne saw his August 4th bout with Ben Rothwell get scrapped due to a Rothwell injury, “Hapa” immediately got back in the rotation, as he now gets a headlining date on Friday, October 5 against Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva.

The television event was originally slotted for September 7, 2012 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana but has now been rescheduled for October 5 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

As noted, Browne had been scheduled to face Rothwell in just over a week at UFC on FOX 4 on August 4, but an ankle injury forced ‘Big Ben’ off the card. ‘Hapa’ will now take his undefeated streak, which includes a 4-0-1 record inside the Octagon, into this fight versus ‘Bigfoot.’ Browne was last in action last April, winning a “Submission of the Night” bonus for submitting promotion newcomer Chad Griggs with an arm-triangle choke at UFC 145.

Silva made his UFC debut this past May, migrating over from Strikeforce along virtually all of the promotions heavyweight division. ‘Bigfoot’ would suffer a first round TKO loss to Cain Velasquez at the UFC 146 event, suffering a large cut to the forehead from an elbow from the former UFC champ. The loss was Silva’s second straight after being eliminated from the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix Tournament semi-final by Daniel Cormier last September. ‘Bigfoot’ had his last victory in February 2011 in the opening round of the tournament, stopping Fedor Emelianenko via TKO.
