Canadian fighter Krzysztof ‘The Polish Experiment’ Soszynski will reportedly make his way back inside the Octagon for the first time in just over a year when he takes on Brazilian Ednaldo ‘Lula’ Oliveira (13-1-1, 1NC), who moves down to 205-lbs from heavyweight for his second Octagon appearance.
Tatame’s Guilherme Cruz announced the matchup on Twitter (@guicruzzz) earlier today.
– Ednaldo Oliveira to make his LHW debut at UFC’s next show in Australia, on December, against Krzysztof Soszynski
UFC on FX: Lombard vs. Palhares (aka UFC on FX 6) is expected to take place on December 15, 2012 in Australia at a place and venue to be determined. The live event will air in North America on Dec. 14th due to the time change.
Soszynski’s last appearance was certain a disappointment for the Polish-Canadian fighter, having been knocked out by Igor Pokrajac in just 35-second at UFC 140 in Toronto. After the match, ‘The Polish Experiment’ talked about retiring from mixed martial arts only to later on claim he had no memory of the occurrence. It seems Soszynski is willing to give fighting one more try and carries a 2-1 record over his last three and a 6-3 Octagon record overall into this fight.
Oliveira brought his undefeated streak into the Octagon last January for a scheduled bout with Rob Broughton at UFC 142. Broughton would end up injured and replaced by Gabriel Gonzaga, who would go on to submit Oliveira in the first round at UFC 142. ‘Lula’ had earned three straight wins and was 9-0 (1NC) in his last ten before his first defeat.
