A pair of heavy handed finishes appear set to scrap this December when Pat ‘HD’ Barry (7-5) and Shane ‘No Limits’ del Rosario (11-1) square off in the Octagon as part of the upcoming TUF 16 Finale event.

News of the matchup was first announced by MMAjunkie.com and later confirmed by MMAWeekly.com with sources close to the fight.

The ‘TUF 16 Finale’ is expected to take place on December 15, 2012 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event features a heavyweight bout between opposing coaches Shane Carwin vs. Roy ‘Big Country’ Nelson, as well as the finals for the reality television show.

Barry will look to improve on his 1-3 record over his last four Octagon appearances, having suffered a first round TKO loss to Lavar Johnson last May at the UFC on FOX 3 event. Previous to that, ‘HD’ walked away with the “Fight of the Night” bonus along with a first round knockout win over Christian Morecraft at the UFC on FX 1 show in Tennessee last January. The other two losses for Barry include a submission defeat versus Stefan Struve, and a come-from-behind knockout loss to Cheick Kongo.

Del Rosario debuted with the UFC in May of this year, losing to Stipe Miocic via TKO in the second round of their UFC 146 bout. The loss ended ‘No Limits’ eleven fight undefeated streak, all of which came via first round or second round finishes. In fact just one bout made it into the second round. Del Rosario earned wins over Johnson, Lolohea Mahe and Brandon Cash inside the Strikeforce cage.
