UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is set to take on number one contender Chael Sonnen at UFC 117 on August 7 from the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California and Silva fans will be hoping to see a pre Cote-like effort from one of the most strongest strikers in mixed martial arts. During a recent UOL chat in Brazil, MMAMania listened in as Silva weighed in on who he thought the best heavyweight fighter in the world was:
“In my opinion Fedor still is the best heavyweight for all the achievements he has gotten. Regarding to Fedor-Lesnar clash, I think it would be a big fight, a great spectacle and the MMA fans would be the winners.”
Without a doubt Fedor vs. Lesnar would be one of the biggest fights in UFC history, but first the UFC would have to sign Fedor which seems rather doubtful. Still we can dream.
