Stephan Bonnar
UFC light heavyweight veteran Stephan ‘The American Psycho’ Bonnar (15-8) has officially retired from the sport of mixed martial arts.
UFC president Dana White made the initial announcement during a fan Q&A Tuesday night during a MetroPCS online chat.
Bonnar followed up that announcement with his own statement on Facebook.

Bonnar ends his career just a couple of weeks after a first round technical knockout loss to UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva. Both men stepped in to save the UFC 153 event after injuries ravaged the main card. ‘The American Psycho’ promised to keep the pressure on ‘The Spider’ and did just that but was unable to land any effective strikes. Once Silva was done playing with Bonnar it took only a few seconds for the 185-lbs champ to finish his opponent in their light heavyweight bout.
Most fans were introduced to Bonnar as part of the original “The Ultimate Fighter” back in 2005. Bonnar faced Forrest Griffin in the final solidifying his place in UFC history.
Bonnar ends his UFC career with an 8-7 record.
