Fighters Stephan ‘The American Psycho’ Bonnar (15-8) and Dave ‘Pee Wee’ Herman (21-5) have both failed post-fight drug tests following appearances at UFC 153.
According to MMAjunkie.com, Bonnar tested positive for the anabolic steroid Drostanolone, while Herman tested positive for marijuana.
The other twenty-two competitors from the Brazilian event were all cleared by UFC officials, who regulated the event as there was no athletic commission to govern the event.
Bonnar faced UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva in the main event of the pay-per-view show, having suffered a first round TKO loss to ‘The Spider’ at 4:40 of the round. Following the loss, Bonnar announced his retirement from mixed martial arts.
Herman was forced to tap by former UFC heavyweight champ Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira in the second round after ‘Big Nog’ secured an armbar. It was the third straight loss for ‘Pee Wee’ who, after this positive test, may find himself unemployed by the UFC.
UFC 153 took place on October 13, 2012 at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
