A welterweight bout between Korean Top Team fighter Hyun Gyu Lim, who was to make his Octagon debut, and American David Mitchell, has been scrapped after UFC doctor’s determined Lim was “medically unfit.”

The bout was scrapped prior to the official weigh-ins for UFC on FUEL TV: Franklin vs. Le today in Macau, China.

UFC officials released a statement on the situation.

After being examined by doctors it was determined that Hyun Gyu Lim was medically unfit to participate in tomorrow’s event and as a precaution, his UFC Macao bout has been canceled. His opponent, David Mitchell, will be paid his show money.

No other official reasons were given for the bout cancellation but MMAFighting.com is reporting that the Korean went through “a rough weight cut” as the culprit.
