No word on a replacement has surfaced from the promotion but it’s safe to say from the image below, posted by Australian journalist Adam Ireland on Twitter (@adamireland1), that Perosh will not be competing anytime soon.

According to Ireland, Perosh did undergo surgery and is hoping to return to training in “4-6 weeks” time.

The injury occurred when “(Perosh) attempted a routine takedown and his toe got stuck in/between 2 mats.”

UFC on FX: Sotiropoulos vs. Pearson is expected to take place on December 15, 2012 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Queensland, Australia. In North America the event will air live on December 14 due to the change in time zones.

Perosh had a three fight win streak stopped by Canadian Ryan Jimmo last July at UFC 149. Jimmo earned a seven-second knockout against ‘The Hippo’ at the Calgary, Alberta event. Perosh earned his last win after facing another Canadian in Nick Penner at UFC on FX 2, stopping Penner via first round TKO.
