Brazilian featherweight Hacran Dias (21-1-1) has suffered an undisclosed injury leaving Chad ‘Money’ Mendes (12-1) without an opponent for the upcoming UFC on FX 6 event.
The injury to Dias was reported by MMAjunkie.com who learned of the news through sources close to the fighter.
UFC on FX: Sotiropoulos vs. Pearson is scheduled to take place on December 15, 2012 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Queensland, Australia. The live television event will air in North America on December 14 due to the difference in time zones.
Dias debuted with the UFC this past June at UFC 147 by winning a decision against opponent Yuri Alcantara at the Brazilian event. The win was the ninth straight for the Nova Uniao fighter.
Mendes earned a quick victory in Calgary at UFC 148 by stopping Cody McKenzie with a body punch in the first round to win a TKO stoppage. The win allowed Mendes to bounce back from the first loss of his career, a first round knockout finish by UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo at UFC 142.
