Former UFC champion Tito Ortiz is the current manager of Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Santos feels that for his fighter to cut down to 135-lbs is just to big of a weight-cut and is hoping that the UFC will welcome a 140-lbs catchweight bout between ‘Cyborg’ vs. Ronda Rousey. Ortiz defends his fighter for making one mistake in her career by trusting someone she shouldn’t have which led to her suspension.
“For a woman to cut that much weight, you gotta understand, she’s small. She’s cutting from 170 down trying to make 135, that’s a big, big, big, big cut. That’s a lot for a woman to cut. And it’s just health reasons when it comes down to it. We want to see an exciting fight. Do it at 140-pounds, I think that would make the best difference. I think ‘Cyborg’ has proved it time and time again by dominating… Gina Carano, so many people that she’s walked through it looked easy for her.”
