Canadian welterweight Sean (The Punisher) Pierson to face Rick (The Horror) Story at UFC 158

UFC 158: St-Pierre vs. Diaz is expected to take place on March 16, 2013 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The event includes a welterweight title match between division champion Georges St-Pierre and former Strikeforce title holder Nick Diaz. Other welterweight bouts announced for the event include Carlos Condit vs. Rory MacDonald, Johny Hendricks vs. Jake Ellenberger, Bobby Voelker vs. Patrick Cote, and Jordan Mein vs. Dan Miller.

Pierson has won his last two bouts, bouncing back from a pair of losses inside the Octagon and is 3-2 overall with the UFC. ‘The Punisher’ picked up decision wins over Lance Benoist at UFC 152 last September in Toronto and over Jake Hecht at UFC on FX 3 last June in Florida. The pair of losses were to Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 141 by decision and to Jake Ellenberger via knockout at UFC 129.

Story could be facing a pink slip should he lose to Pierson. ‘The Horror’ is just 1-3 in his last four matches following a six fight win streak for the Washington fighter. Story fought last October in Brazil losing by submission to Demian Maia at UFC 153. Previous to that Story earned a decision win against Brock Jardine at the UFC on FX 4 event in Atlantic City.
