The payroll for the Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine totaled $1,153,500 with fighters Josh Barnett ($250,000), Gegard Mousasi ($175,000), Daniel Cormier ($120,000) and Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza ($100,500) all earning six-digit payouts.
Meanwhile main event opponents, newly crowned Strikeforce welterweight champ Tarec Saffiedine ($39,000) and defeated title holder Nate Marquardt ($40,000), received considerably less paydays.
The Oklahoma State Athletic Commission released the totals on Monday for the January 12, 2013 event which went down at the Chesapeake Energy Center in Oklahoma City.
