Officials with the Ultimate Fighting Championship have added another bout to the promotions upcoming UK card as TUF 14 alum Marcus ‘The Bama Beast’ Brimage (6-1) welcomes two-division Cage Rage champ Conor ‘Notorious’ McGregor (12-2) to the Octagon this April in a featherweight bout.
The bout was confirmed by UFC officials on Thursday.
UFC on FUEL TV: Gustafsson vs. Mousasi (aka UFC on FUEL TV 9 or UFC Sweden 2) is expected to take place on April 6, 2013 at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. The main card will air live on Fuel TV while the prelim card is expected to air via live streaming video on Facebook.
Brimage has won four straight, which includes three appearances in the Octagon. ‘The Bama Beast’ was in action this past September in Toronto picking up a decision victory against Jimy Hettes at UFC 152. Before that, Brimage was able to earn a close split decision over Maximo Blanco at UFC 145 and Stephen Bass by decision at the TUF 14 Finale.
McGregor has won eight straight matches which includes capturing the Cage Warriors featherweight and lightweight titles. He captured the 155-lbs title on NYE by stopping opponent Ivan Buchinger via first round knockout at the CWFC 51 show. Prior to that he won the 145-lbs belt after submitting opponent Dave Hill at CWFC 47 this past June.
