The Ultimate Fighting Championship has booked it’s third ever women’s bout for inside the Octagon as former wrestling Olympian Sara McMann (6-0) takes on German fighter Sheila ‘The German Tank’ Gaff (10-4-1) in a women’s bantamweight bout for this April’s UFC 159: Jones vs. Sonnen event.

News of the bout was first reported by the German website GroundAndPound.de earlier today and later confirmed by several different mma news sites.

UFC 159: Jones vs. Sonnen is expected to take place on April 27, 2013 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The event is headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between defending champ Jon Jones and No. 1 contender Chael Sonnen. It’s likely that the McMann vs. Gaff bout will be featured on the television broadcasted prelim card.

McMann is undefeated in her pro-mma career with six straight wins. Her last bout took place in the Invicta FC cage this past July earning a decision victory over Shayna Baszler. McMann is also a former Olympic medalist having captured Silver in women’s freestyle wrestling at the 2004 Athens games.

Gaff will enter her UFC debut on a three-fight run having earned a ten-second knockout in her last fight one year ago at a Cage Warriors event in Dubai, UAE in March 2012. The third straight win put her at .500 after losing three straight previously. ‘The German Tank’ has earned stoppages in each of her ten victories.
