The recently announced UFC 161 card continues to grow as heavyweights Pat ‘HD’ Barry (8-5) and Shawn ‘The Savage’ Jordan (14-4) have been identified as opponents for this June’s upcoming UFC 161 event in Winnipeg.

Local news agency WinnipegFreePress.com announced the new matchup which was later confirmed by UFC officials.

UFC 161: Barao vs. Wineland is expected to take place on June 15, 2013 at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The event will see UFC interim bantamweight champ Renan Barao defend his belt versus former WEC title holder Eddie Wineland.

Barry is 2-1 in his last three fights earning a “Knockout of the Night” victory over Shane del Rosario last December at the TUF 16 Finale. Barry survived a strong ground attack from Del Rosario in the first round to earn the second round KO. Prior to that ‘HD’ lost via TKO to Lavar Johnson at UFC on FOX 3, while knocking out Christian Morecraft in the first round of their UFC on FX 1 bout.

Jordan holds the same 2-1 record over his last three bouts, which include all three of his Octagon appearances. ‘The Savage’ was in action this past January at UFC on FOX 6 picking up a second round TKO victory against Mike Russow at the Chicago event. Jordan dropped a decision to Cheick Kong at UFC 149 in July of last year while winning his Octagon debut at UFC on FX 2 against Oli Thompson.
