Thiago Silva
Earlier this week a light heavyweight bout between Rafael ‘Rafael’ Cavalcante (11-3, 1NC) and Thiago Silva (14-3, 2NC) was reported for UFC 162. On Friday, Tatame.com announced the news that the bout would actually take place in June at the recently announced UFC on FUEL TV 10 event.
UFC on Fuel TV: Nogueira vs. Werdum is expected to take place on June 8, 2013 at the Ginásio Paulo Sarasate arena in Fortaleza, Brazil. The event will see TUF Brazil 2 coaches Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum square off in a heavyweight match in the main event of the television event.
Both fighters enter the match following a “No Contest” result with Cavalcante seeing a submission win over Mike Kyle at a Strikeforce event overturned by CSAC after Cavalcante failed the post-fight drug test.
Silva had a submission win over Stanislav Nedkov changed to a “No Contest” after Silva tested positive for marijuana metabolites.
