UFC bantamweight Roland Delorme (8-1) will have home field advantage the next time he steps into the cage, as the Canadian fighter will compete in his home town of Winnipeg, Manitoba for this June’s UFC 161 event versus Edwin ‘El Feroz’ Figueroa (9-2).

Officials with the Canadian office of the UFC announced the news on Twitter on Wednesday evening (@UFC_CA).

Winnipeg’s own @rolanddelorme1 returns to the Octagon @ #UFC161 vs Edwin Figueroa, in what promises to be an action packed bantamweight bout

UFC 161: Barao vs. Wineland is expected to take place on June 15, 2013 at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The event will see interim bantaimweight champ Renan Barao square off with former WEC title holder Eddie Wineland.

Delorme is so far undefeated in the Octagon, but only because a knockout loss to Francisco Rivera was changed to a “No Contest” after Rivera failed a post-fight drug test. The Canadian fighter picked up submission wins over Nick Denis at UFC on FOX 3 and over fellow TUF 14 housemate Josh Ferguson at the reality shows Finale.

Figueroa enters the bout with a win over Rivera last month in Vegas at UFC 156. ‘El Feroz’ stopped Rivera in the second round by TKO to push his record to .500 with the UFC. Figueroa earned his last win at UFC 143 against Alex Caceres via split decision after Caceres was penalized two points for kicks to the groin.
