The UFC seems to be getting a little bit more creative with their promo videos lately. But what do you make of this highlight of Conor McGregor from their official Youtube channel?

UFC 196 is within touching distance now, as we count down the last three days before the massive March 5 pay-per-view event. In typical Conor McGregor fashion, the trash talk levels have been at an all-time high, as he finds himself paired with yet another late replacement in Nate Diaz. After the lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos fell out of the card injured, Diaz took the reigns and stepped in on just 12 days notice.

This has allowed the promotion to put together a number of epic promo videos, mostly cut from the same impromptu UFC 196 pre-fight press conference. It’s quite amusing to see that the UFC released this following video highlight of Conor McGregor just yesterday, showing the UFC featherweight champion laughing for 49 seconds straight, in various different situations. Who needs career highlights and promo trailers when you can cut videos like this:

With just three days left until McGregor and Diaz face off in Las Vegas, Nevada at UFC 196, you’d think that a video of the Irish boxer laughing would be the last thing fans would want to see. That said, it’s got a ton of views in the brief time it’s been online.

Elsewhere on the internet, fans are once again outdoing the promotion in terms of video quality, as this awesome trailer for UFC 196 is doing the rounds:
So who will emerge victorious in the last minute welterweight headliner at UFC 196? For once McGregor is at a height and reach advantage against the slightly taller Diaz, and once again faces a fighter with far more grappling credentials. But that’s not all, as we know Nate can also bang, bro.

See ya! Holly Holm plans on taking time off after UFC 196

Everyone deserves a time out.

Fabricio Werdum won the heavyweight title last June, then decided he needed six months to recover. Joining him in the vacation club was light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, who packed up his strap and went home because UFC was running him ragged.

Now it’s Holly Holm’s turn, according to her conversation with MMA Junkie.

“Right now I have a fight, and I have a really busy March and April, and I’m going on a girls trip in April, which is very much needed. Honestly, I would actually really love to not schedule a fight or even think about it until after all that. I went straight from the victory tour to the on-sale tour for this fight, which is how I like it. I want to be active. But I could use maybe like six weeks. I still like to work out, but (I want) six weeks with not having to actually think about a fight. Then we can schedule one. I don’t really need that much time off because then I start to think, ‘Well, what’s my purpose? What’s next? Let’s go.'”

She may get even longer than that.

But that all depends on whether or not she can defeat Miesha Tate — and hold on to her bantamweight title — at the upcoming UFC 196 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place this Sat. night (March 5, 2016) inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

That’s because Ronda Rousey will not be ready to return by UFC 200 and “Rowdy” is already penciled in to fight the winner of Holm vs. Tate. I doubt the promotion would risk that blockbuster payday to schedule Holm vs. Cat Zingano or some other top contender between now and then.

Unless, of course, this happens.

Check out Bloody Elbow’s extensive pre-fight coverage of UFC 196: McGregor vs. Diaz in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, March 5th. In the main event, featherweight champion Conor McGregor moves up to welterweight to take on Nate Diaz in a short-notice bout that is scheduled for 5 rounds. The co-main event is a women’s bantamweight title defense for new champion Holly Holm, as she battles former Strikeforce champion Miesha Tate.

On Saturday, March 5th, Conor McGregor won’t be fighting Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight belt. Instead, the featherweight champion is headed up to welterweight for what should be a thrilling showdown with Nate Diaz in the UFC 196 main event at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. It’s a great Plan B with the original RDA/Conor bout falling through, and we’ll get to see Irish fans intermingle with Diaz fans in what will surely be a cordial, friendly get-together to watch some fisticuffs.

In the co-main event, Holly Holm makes her first defense of the women’s bantamweight title, as she faces Miesha Tate. Rounding out the main card is #1 pound-for-pound legend Ilir Latifi against mere mortal Gian Villante, time-bending light heavyweight Corey “Beastin’ 25/8” Anderson against Tom Lawlor, and women’s bantamweight contenders Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko.

The preliminary card features the return of Brandon Thatch and Siyar Bahadurzada in the FS1 feature bout, plus Diego Sanchez vs. Jim Miller in a lightweight bout on Fight Pass.

Here’s next week’s bout order:

Main Card (10 PM ET, PPV)

Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor
Holly Holm vs. Miesha Tate

UFC 197: Check out these pics as Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones get into hilarious Photoshop war

“I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones Photoshop.”

Jon Jones kicks things off:

Followed by:

Jones is referencing hefty Hollywood actor Reginald VelJohnson, all decked out in his “Family Matters” garb. That’s the same VelJohnson who played Sgt. Al Powell in “Die Hard,” but that pic would make Daniel Cormier look hip instead of lame.

“DC” responds:

Part two:

Cormier taking a swipe at Jones’ failed drug test from UFC 182.

Jones, who surrendered his strap after last year’s hit-and-run accident in Albuquerque, New Mexico, will try to reclaim his light heavyweight title when he collides with Cormier in the UFC 197 pay-per-view (PPV) main event, which takes place inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sat., April 23, 2016.

Jones wants the last word:

The time off from fighting will hopefully help Ronda Rousey get mentally well again, but it looks like there are setbacks too…

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey continues to be one of the most keenly followed personalities in mixed martial arts today. A mix of high end performances during her reign as 135-pound queen, some serious hype jobbing by the UFC and the subsequent backfire at UFC 193 has made ‘Rowdy’ one of the most recognizable faces in all modern combat sports, for better or worse.

After getting knocked out in a brutal November 2015 fight with Holly Holm and losing her belt, the former champ went in to hiding and suffered what she’s since described as the darkest period in her sports career. Losses will always be tough to take, but it seems the multiple factors contributing to this case are somewhat unique. Rousey appeared to be sold on her own hype, and as a result suffered serious criticism in the moments after the loss to Holm. The internet can be a very cruel tool when left in the hands of people with a grudge.

UFC 193: Rousey v Holm

Coming out of hiding in the recent months, Ronda Rousey hit another photoshoot with Sports Illustrated, this time sporting a painted on bikini in quite the contrast from her mood leading up to this year. A bubbly and happy looking ‘Rowdy’ went on to co-host Saturday Night Live, where she was all singing and dancing. But it appeared the dark times were far from over for the formerly dominant champion.

Ronda Rousey would reveal to the world that she had thought about suicide in the aftermath of her firs MMA loss, but once again the MMA fans had little sympathy. In fact, it was quite the opposite, and brought back memories of the brutal meme bashing that the ex-champ had suffered when knocked out by ‘The Preacher’s Daughter.’

Now we get to see the latest version of Rousey in an image that’s been leaked online and is currently going viral.
