Middleweight Andre Muniz wants to show he is a well-rounded fighter when he meets Uriah Hall on July 2.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu blackbelt Andre Muniz has a versatile striker ahead of him for his next outing. Paired up against Uriah Hall at UFC 276, ‘Sergipano’ hopes to score another signature submission win, but will not shy away from a striking battle if he must stay on the feet.

In an interview with Combate, Muniz revealed what he thinks are Hall’s strongest skills. At the same time, Andre also made sure to point out how ready he is for the clash of styles and how he expects to handle Uriah’s unpredictability.

“Hall is very experienced, he’s a seasoned vet in the promotion,” Muniz said. “He has beaten great guys. You have to respect him, no doubt. You have to respect his knockout power. He has good distance control, a good jab. He can kick with both legs. He’s a pretty dangerous guy on the feet. You have to be careful all the time. At any moment, there may be a punch or a kick coming your way. We’re very well-trained and prepared, though. We’re ready to neutralize his game and put on a great performance on Saturday.”

Despite being known for submitting jiu-jitsu legend Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza and having 15 submission wins to his name, Muniz wants fans to know he is not just a grappler. Although jiu-jitsu will always be his main tool, Andre takes inspiration from lightweight champion Charles Oliveira to evolve and become a fully well-rounded mixed martial artist.

“The jiu-jitsu community is very united,” Muniz said. “They want us to honor the history and keep on going for the submission. That’s our art and that’s what I look to do. Of couse we’ve been evolving, just like our champion Charles Oliveira has been working on his striking. Only jiu-jitsu is not enough, or getting the fight to the ground. You have to know how to strike and wrestling, too. We’ve been trying to evolve everywhere, so we can keep on winning.”

Currently on a four-fight winning streak in the UFC, Muniz (22-4) defeated Antonio Arroyo, Bartosz Fabinski, the aforementioned Souza and Eryk Anders during this time, with three wins coming by way of armbar. The 32-year-old’s last loss happened in October 2016, when he got knocked out by Azamat Murzakanov.

Now, Muniz is expected to face Hall at UFC 276, on July 2, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card is scheduled to be headlined by a middleweight bout between the champion, Israel Adesanya, and challenger Jared Cannonier.

‘I Listen To Way Too Many Serial Killer Podcasts’

“I listen to way too many serial killer podcasts to stop at a truck stop at night. Hell no.”

Just because Jessica-Rose Clark is a professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) doesn’t mean she doesn’t have relatable fears like everyone else.

“Jessy Jess” returns to action this weekend (Sat., July 2, 2022) at UFC 276 against Lithuania’s Julija Stoliarenko. With 19 career fights in her back pocket, Clark looks for a big rebound 12th victory in fight No. 20.

An avid traveler on the road, the 34-year-old Australian accepted the bout offer a few months back literally as she was returning home from a big cross-country U.S. road trip. Usually on the move with just her two dogs, Clark always prefers to stay ready so she never has to get ready in case of emergencies.

“I stop at gas stations and rest stops, things like that. Very rarely through the night,” Clark told MMA Mania. “I’ll always stop and kind of sleep during the day so I can drive all the way through the night cause I listen to way too many serial killer podcasts to stop at a truck stop at night. Hell no.

“Even when I was driving back from Montana and I had to stop to get fuel, it was like 3 am and I was in literally the middle of rural northern California so I called someone and was like, ‘Just be on the phone with me while I stop to get fuel,’” she continued. “Then, funnily enough, the person I called was like, ‘You listen to way too many serial killer podcasts.’ Dude, I’m a single female who’s always by herself, and not only that, I don’t have my dogs with me right now so I don’t even have my usual line of defense. I’m legitimately by myself so if I got f—kin’ murdered in the middle of rural northern California, you’d be like, ‘She wasn’t playing safe. Wasn’t safe enough. Why didn’t she call someone if she had to stop?’ F—k off, man. Anyway, I didn’t get stabbed (laughs).”

On a lighter and less uncontrollable side of the spectrum, Clark never intends on skydiving and feels sick just thinking about it. However, it still doesn’t top the list of things most feared as that spot belongs to something simpler and more family-oriented.

“I don’t ever want there to be a day when my mom shakes her head at me in disappointment,” Clark said. “I think that’s it. I don’t want there to be a day where my mom feels shame at me being her kid. I think that’s my biggest fear.

“I know it’s so unfounded because it’s not in my nature to ever do any of the things that could make her feel that way about me but that’s definitely a pretty big one,” she concluded. “F—k, imagine if it did. God damn.”

Sean Strickland Claims He Will Be The Best UFC Champion Ever, Pokes Fun At Israel Adesanya: “Grown A** Man On F*cking TikTok”

Sean Strickland

UFC middleweight contender, Sean Strickland certainly didn’t hold back during tonight’s press conference ahead of UFC 276 – firing multiple barbs in the direction of undisputed champion, Israel Adesanya, as well as claiming he’ll be the greatest champion the UFC has ever seen.

Sean Strickland, a hugely outspoken character under the banner of the promotion – who recently saw his Twitter account suspended due to numerous flagrant comments, returns to the Octagon on the main card of UFC 276, tackling Alex Pereira.

Attempting to lodge successive victory number seven, Strickland landed a close, split decision win over Jack Hermansson back in February in his most recent outing.

Expected to ruffle some feathers at tonight’s press conference ahead of his T-Mobile Arena return against Pereira, Sean Strickland called for sponsorship opportunities, predicted a future middleweight title reign, broke down his matchup with the Brazilian – as well as engaging in a back-and-forth with Adesanya.

Called upon for his first media engagement, Strickland claimed that he would love to “punch” each of the attending crowd members in the face, labeling the ‘Sin City’ attendees as “vicious b*stards”.

Attempting to prevent himself from using explicit language, Strickland soon threw his own rule book out the window, before urging the United States to “fix” itself, and questioned why he was not allowed use expletives on programming, but come consume acts of violence across social media and on television.

Describing opponent and former GLORY Kickboxing champion, Pereira as a “scary f*cking Brazilian” – Strickland maintained that despite the decorated kickboxing acumen the Sao Paulo native brings with him to the Octagon, he would be more than capable of “handling” himself.

When asked how he was taking in International Fight Week and its festivities, Sean Strickland maintained that he was mostly an introvert – who would likely catch himself a “murder charge” should he mingle with the general public during the week.

Sean Strickland and Israel Adesanya engage in an inevitable war of words ahead of UFC 276

Firing a couple of barbs in the direction of Adesanya by bringing up his duo of kickboxing losses to the aforenoted, Pereira, Strickland claimed he “made the champion mad”, before claiming he was sporting a “gay little watch’ – and poked fun at his “frosted tip” nails.

In response to Strickland, Adesanya claimed that backstage before emerging for the press event, he had slapped the North Carolina native on his backside, leading to Strickland offering to fight him outside the venue of the press conference.

Adesanya claimed soon after that if Strickland landed a fight with him, once he finishes the #4 ranked contender, he would perform a “TikTok dance” over his “grave” — leading to Strickland poking fun at him for using the platform; “Look at this, a grown a*s man using f*cking TikTok.”

Eventually returning to a seated position, Sean Strickland claimed Israel Adesanya would only “break a nail” if they fought outside, before urging Pereira to “get” the Nigerian-Kiwi.

Criticizing Adesanya’s pornography preference, Strickland claimed he would go down as the best middleweight champion the organization has ever fielded – predicting a future title reign down the line, before Adesanya claimed that he liked the former like a “step brother he never wanted”.

Max Holloway and Alex Volkanovski showed a different side to them ahead of UFC 276.

Current UFC Featherweight king Alex Volkanovski has established his presence as the top dog of the division. The second-ranked pound-for-pound fighter is coming off a commanding performance over Chan ‘The Korean Zombie’ Sung Jung in April. He was initially matched up to face Holloway for UFC 273 but the bout was pushed back after the 30-year-old Hawaiian was not given medical clearance.

Max Holloway & Alex Volkanovski get heated at UFC 276 press conference

Hosted during and on the tenth anniversary of, UFC is looking to cap off the International Fight Week with a solid event. They have traditionally been known to put together their strongest cards for the occasion and UFC 276 is no exception.

During the pre-fight press conference, Max Holloway got fired up talking about their trilogy bout. He did not miss an opportunity to fire shots at Volkanovski and kept bashing the 145-lbs champion throughout.

“This guy talking about a three-peat or something. This guy don’t even got three highlights in the UFC,” Holloway said before following up with a tiny mic drop on the table.

Volkanovski attempted to keep it cordial as he slipped and parried away the verbal jabs coming from his adversary. Holloway continued his tirade, something we rarely get to see from the ‘Blessed’.

“We’re talking about damage here,” Holloway added. “I’m known for taking damage and he’s known for not giving it.”

Volkanovski could not resist after hearing that one and fired right back saying, “That’s why he can’t spar anymore, got punched in the head too much,” he added. “Saturday night, it ends for you that’s it.”

UFC 276 will be headlined by the middleweight title contest between Israel Adesanya and Jared Cannonier. Alex Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway will serve as the co-main event of the night on July 2 at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, NV.
