Conor McGregor’s death threats were caught on camera.

Shortly after being dominated by Dustin Poirier and getting badly injured, Conor McGregor was still talking a lot of smack. The Irishman claimed he was winning the round — which two judges scored 10-8 for Poirier — then again involved Poirier’s wife in a pretty classless post-fight interview.

If that wasn’t bad enough, Poirier revealed in the post-fight press conference that “dirt bag” McGregor kept threatening to kill him again after the fight ended.

“I hope they show that behind-the-scenes stuff, man. He was still sitting on the ground, still saying I’m going to kill you, putting his hands to his head like a gun. Like bro, chill out! Chill out,” Poirier said.

“I’m trying my best to not take this personal,” he said. “but you don’t say that type of shit to people. You don’t say that you’re going to kill somebody. I don’t take that lightly.”

Cageside footage has since been released showing just what Poirier described. The clip shows McGregor, who couldn’t even stand after getting his leg broken, still repeatedly issuing death threats, and saying he will kill him in his sleep.

Floyd Mayweather bet against his former opponent Conor McGregor

Floyd Mayweather didn’t fight, but he still made good money on Saturday night. The undefeated boxing legend bet against his former foe in Conor McGregor, and he cashed in after Dustin Poirier picked up a TKO win at UFC 264.

Mayweather took to social media to post about his sizable bet.

“@dustinpoirier, thanks for getting me paid!” Mayweather wrote on Instagram.

His post shows a betting slip that had him putting $50,000 on Poirier. Aptly named “Money,” Mayweather will be going home with $85,714.30 now (winning $35,714.30) from his bet at UFC 264.

Poirier has since responded:

Mayweather, 44, TKO’d McGregor in the 10th round of their 2017 boxing match. Although he went on to compete in lucrative exhibitions, the cross-over bout marked Mayweather’s final professional bout to make him reach 50-0 in his hall-of-fame career. Mayweather reportedly made around $285 million for that bout.

With the loss at UFC 264, McGregor has now lost three of his last four bouts, all via stoppage. His only win in almost half a decade is a TKO over Donald Cerrone in 2020.

Poirier on the other hand, is on an impressive streak, losing just one of his last ten bouts dating back to 2017.

Jake Paul continues to troll Conor McGregor after he lost to Dustin Poirier again.

Jake Paul has constantly trolled Conor McGregor on social media, and it was predictable that he would only ramp it up after the former champion sustained back-to-back losses to Dustin Poirier. Speaking of predictions, he did take a shot at “Mystic Mac” for promising that a stretcher will be needed after UFC 264.

McGregor earlier predicted that he’d “kill” Poirier and will need to be stretchered out of UFC 264, only for him to be the one carried out after being injured and dominated.

Paul, who is pretty good at getting reactions out of people, of course had other tweets jabbing at the UFC star throughout the contest.

Paul previously put out a video offering McGregor a “$50 million contract with proof of funds” to face him in a boxing match. After his loss to Poirier earlier in the year, he trolled McGregor saying that his offer has since dropped to just $10,000. The YouTuber turned boxer now says he has a new final offer.

This is Dustin Poirier vs Conor McGregor 3 in a few short tweets!

UFC 264 is in the books, and the trilogy between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier has been completed. It was the same end result as their second bout six months ago, but Poirier was far more dominant this time around. In a round that most people expected McGregor to be strongest in, Poirier landed shots, made him want to grapple, then continued to overwhelm him on the ground.

In the final seconds of a completely dominant opening round for Poirier, McGregor broke his ankle. The fight was stopped in between rounds, and an irate McGregor kept shouting and threatening to kill Poirier as he was injured on the ground, insulting his wife again, and blaming his injury for the loss.

Here’s a quick twitter thread with a brief recap and analysis of the event, that’s fitting for people’s social media era attention spans:

And that’s about it. For more social media musings, follow me on twitter over at @antontabuena, and of course you should do that for Bloody Elbow’s official twitter account as well.
