UFC 156: Aldo vs. Edgar is expected to take place on February 2, 2013 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is headlined by a featherweight title bout between defending champ Jose Aldo and former lightweight title holder Frankie Edgar.

Volkmann is 1-1 in his last two bouts but is 6-1 in his last seven Octagon appearances. Most recently, ‘Christmas’ was in action this past October picking up a first round submission win over Shane Roller at the Minneapolis event. The loss came in May of this year in Vegas versus British fighter Paul Sass, who was able to secure a triangle-armbar submission as part of the UFC 146 event.

Green, a former King of the Cage title holder, has made five straight appearances inside the Strikeforce cage going 4-1 in that span. He is currently riding a four fight win streak with a decision victory against Matt Ricehouse in his last fight this past August. ‘King’ also icked up wins over James Terry, J.P. Reese, and Charon Spain while losing a close split decision to Gesias Cavalcante for his debut bout.
